Anti-Virus Software
All college-owned computers currently have Microsoft Defender installed. Students, faculty, and staff who may bring their personally owned computers to campus should be aware that we require any computer connecting to the wired or wireless networks on campus to have anti-virus software installed. If you are looking for anti-virus protection for your personally-owned computer, there are free options available that can be downloaded. Please note that these are recommendations. The IT Department is unable to offer support for these freely available packages.
Windows
Windows versions 8 and newer come with Windows Defender pre-installed. There is no need for additional anti-virus software if you have Windows 8 or newer.

Problems with popups or unwanted software?
Many popup advertisements and unwanted software that gets automatically installed is not detected by traditional anti-virus software. If you have problems such as popup ads, odd website redirections, or software being installed without your permission, we recommend using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
